The rectifier/regulator changes the AC voltage generated in the alternator to the DC voltage of 12V used in the vehicle electrical system and keeps the voltage within a certain tolerance range. This charges the battery and ensures that incandescent lamps, for example, do not burn out.
Since this component is exposed to very high temperatures, it often breaks down.
If the rectifier/regulator is defective, the battery is constantly empty, with certain ignition systems the ignition system no longer works, bulbs burn out continuously or the driving light flickers.
Note: Regulators with 5 connections via flat plugs, please compare the photo of the regulator with your original regulator to make sure that the item fits.
