Throttle cables, clutch cables and the chain of your motorcycle should be subject to regular maintenance. For this purpose special Teflon sprays are used, which penetrate deep into the inside of the Bowden cable.
If the cable is not maintained regularly, it can happen that it "dissolves". This usually happens in combination with moisture, which in turn causes rust. If this is the case, the cable can only be replaced.
