The timing chain tensioner is an important component. In the event of a defect, it can even lead to engine damage. Due to the pressure that the tensioner puts on the timing chain, it is always optimally tensioned. If this is not the case, the chain can wear out and wear out faster. In extreme cases, this can lead to a tooth jumping over and thus to valve damage.
