Experience has shown that the water pump sealing rings are a weak point in motorcycle engines. As soon as the oil in the gearbox takes on a milky, dull colour, you should check whether the Simmerrings of the water pump are still properly sealed.
Since the water pump has to be removed anyway to replace the rings, it makes sense to replace the remaining mechanical parts at the same time.
The seal of the housing is a mandatory replacement no matter what work is done!
